What is this girl eating for breakfast?
This girl eating a watermelon “as is” is a great example of how we should be eating.
We grew up believing that our diet should be fool of different ingredients and a mixture of different substances together.
I quoted John H Tobe in this article because what he said a couple of things that caught my attention.
“Any food that requires enhancing by the use of chemical substances should in no way be considered a food.”
He said also:
“Disease is the biggest money maker in our economy.”
Even though nobody produces food with the intention to make people sick (at least I don’t believe so,) the truth that we poison our inner environment with our nutrition choices is a fact.
Most of us are addicted to refined sugars and refined wheat and, as a result of a life eating unbalanced meals is: sickness.
How many long-life-shelf products are full of preservatives, sugar, salt?
I found what Wikipedia says about sugar:
“Sugars are found in the tissues of most plants and are present in sugarcane and sugar beet in sufficient concentrations for efficient commercial extraction. The world production of sugar in 2011 was about 168 million tones. The average person consumes about 24 kilograms (53 lb) of sugar each year (33.1 kg in industrialized countries), equivalent to over 260 food calories per person, per day. Sugar is a concentration of once was part of a whole sugarcane or a sugar beet for example.
Also wheat is extracted from a cereal grain and we all (widely) consume refined wheat, which is a high concentration of just one part of the whole cereal.
Returning to the girl in the picture, I imagine that this girl is eating watermelon for breakfast. This is not a processed food. It is given to us already “packed” for our consumption.
I always imagined a breakfast like this: Coffee and milk with sugar as you with, croissant with marmalade, cake, then more coffee with sugar… and then more croissants with marmalade and more cake…
Now I know that real food is something else.
There’s a difference between the watermelon for breakfast and the breakfast I described before.
The watermelon “as is” is full of vitamins, like: Vitamin A, B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, C, then Calcium, Iron, Magnesium, Manganese, Phosphorus, Potassium, Sodium, Zinc, Sugars (6.2%) Protein (0.6%) Fat (0.15%)
All is balanced, and if we start by replacing a breakfast with something like that, I mean, natural food, our well-being, which is our natural state, is going to flourish.
