Leather Care
Caring for Your Leather
Always keep leather out of direct heat or sunlight for prolonged periods of time. It’s so it doesn’t dry out, crack or fade unevenly. Moisturize it every six months with your favorite mink oil. But with just a damp cloth and wiping it should be just fine!
Leather has pores so cannot be fully waterproofed but you can try your favorite leather protector and re-spray every few months and try to avoid heavy rain as big raindrops can make splotches that may not fade entirely. If your leather gets wet, pat it dry with paper towels and pack it loosely with paper. Let it air dry and do not apply any heat!
Most of our products are made with vegetable-tanned leather. Vegetable-tanned leather color changes with time, just like everything else in nature. As leather ages the finish may flatten out and marks may appear as the unique patina develops. This is the sign of well-loved leather that is taking on a character of its own. The bamboo may also lighten or darken in color as well depending on the climate. That is also perfectly normal.
And lastly, our leather goods are designed to be functional but please be careful and responsible with them! Check out all our Latest products.
